Hoan Huynh is laser-focused on lowering the costs of living for residents in the 9th District so that working and middle-class families can save money and prosper. He has a plan to lower property taxes, and lower the costs of housing, healthcare, prescription drugs, utilities, gasoline and transit.

He will put working families at the forefront everyday over special interest groups, corporations, lobbyists, and billionaires.

Hoan is committed to standing with working families.  As a workers’ rights advocate, Hoan protected workers by going after corporations that put their profits over the fair treatment of immigrants, women, and victims of workplace discrimination. Hoan is fighting to make sure that families can keep up with rising costs, advocate for safer working conditions, and secure retirement benefits for working families.

Hoan believes healthcare is a right, not a privilege. Hoan has helped his community access lifesaving healthcare and medicine, and he understands the challenges families face in affording care.

He’s taken on the big insurance and pharmaceutical companies to rein in the high cost of healthcare and prescription drugs and efforts to cut Medicaid. Hoan will continue to protect Medicare and Medicaid.

Hoan has a plan to make prescription drugs more affordable for seniors, working families, and individuals. In Congress, Hoan will introduce legislation to end "Pay-to-Delay," the scam where Big Pharma pays off smaller drug companies to keep their generic brands off the market so they can keep price gouging us.

In Congress, Hoan Huynh will push for Medicare - the nation's largest insurer - to negotiate all drug pricing. He will stop prescription drug price gouging and keep Big Pharma from using taxpayer dollars to fund their advertising campaigns, then writing it off on their corporate taxes.

No one should face bankruptcy to pay for life-saving medicine. It's time we took on Big Pharma's greed and the cost of medicine for every family.

As an immigrant and refugee himself, Hoan believes immigrants are essential to our communities. Hoan will fight for humane immigration policies, expanded pathways to citizenship, and protections for Dreamers and mixed-status families. He believes America is a nation of opportunity and it must live up to that promise.

Hoan believes democracy only works when people trust their government. With our democracy under threat from Donald Trump and his MAGA allies, Hoan will stand up to authoritarianism and extremism. Hoan will work to strengthen voting rights for every American and defend our free and fair elections from those who want to overturn our democracy.

Hoan believes education is the key to unlocking opportunity and a brighter future.  Hoan has fought to ensure every child has a quality education by working to raise wages for teachers, investing in community public schools, supporting programs like early childhood education that give students more opportunities to succeed, and providing more vocational education and job training.

While families are getting squeezed by rising prices, career politicians are continuing to give tax breaks to their corporate donors and special interests. Hoan will fight to end this culture of corruption in our politics in Washington. He does not receive campaign contributions from special interest groups and corporations.

Hoan has received a 100% Environmental Scorecard rating from the Illinois Environmental Council every year he has served in office. Hoan is committed to fighting climate change, fighting for clean air and water, and protecting the open spaces we all enjoy.

Hoan is committed to keeping our communities safe. Hoan finds himself constantly worried about the threat of gun violence. He has taken on the NRA by fighting for common-sense gun safety laws like universal background checks and a ban on assault weapons.

Following the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, Hoan has fought to defend women’s health and rights in Springfield. Hoan is 100% pro-choice and has stood strong to protect funding for Planned Parenthood and access to critical women’s health services like birth control and cancer screenings. He will continue to fight against those who want to take away a woman's right to choose.

Hoan believes small businesses are the backbone of our economy. As the owner of a former small business, he understands the struggles many face today. That’s why Hoan is working to cut taxes for middle-class families and small businesses and bring back more good-paying jobs in advanced manufacturing and technology innovation to ensure we make things here in America and keep our shelves stocked.

With our democracy under threat from Donald Trump and his MAGA allies, Hoan has fought to defend our rights and values. Hoan is unwavering in the belief that all people deserve to live safely, openly, and with dignity. He will fight back against the extremists who discriminate against LGBTQ+, immigrant, refugee, and minority communities.

Hoan believes the U.S. should lead in developing new technologies. Blockchain addresses a crucial issue in both digital and physical economies: trust. Its immutable public ledger has proven valuable in diverse areas, from global shipping to innovative financial systems. Establishing clear regulations for AI technology will foster growth, safeguard consumers, and enhance national security.
